Dallas ISD has initiated the implementation process for its historic 2026 Bond Program following its recent approval by voters. District leaders thanked the community for the investment and stated that teams began working immediately to turn the approved vision into reality. The district is currently developing a comprehensive implementation timeline for the projects included in the program.

Simultaneously, Dallas ISD is soliciting Requests for Qualifications for program management firms. These firms will provide expertise in overseeing the planning, design, scheduling, and construction of the bond program. District administration will review the qualifications and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees, which holds the authority for final approval of the selected firms.

The district plans to have these teams on board during the fall semester.

Once program management firms are approved, Dallas ISD will begin selecting architecture firms for projects across the district. The Board of Trustees will also provide final approval for these architectural partners. Throughout this process, the district intends to engage families, educators, students, and community members through a series of meetings and input sessions.

These sessions will allow stakeholders to provide feedback on school designs, learning environments, career and technical education opportunities, safety enhancements, and athletic improvements.

District leaders anticipate that initial planning and design phases will begin immediately after the selection of program management and architectural firms. The design process is expected to take several months, followed by a contractor procurement and bidding phase required under state procurement laws and Board policies. Construction will begin on a staggered timeline rather than all at once.

This phased approach is intended to manage cash flow associated with bond sales, ensure the availability of qualified contractors and skilled labor, and minimize disruptions to students and school operations. The district is using a data-driven approach to guide the selection of schools most in need for the initial phases.
