A man from Grayson County has been charged with several drug offenses, including trafficking, following a police investigation. Charles Dewayne Ford, 57, was arrested after law enforcement responded to a report of drug trafficking at his residence on Anneta Road.
The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, in collaboration with Kentucky Probation and Parole, conducted the investigation which revealed that Ford had a marijuana grow operation in his closet, along with packaged methamphetamine believed to be intended for resale. Officers also discovered $2,000 in cash at the scene.
According to the citation, Ford attempted to conceal the marijuana by placing it in a Ziploc bag and hiding it under other items in his closet. Additionally, a notebook found in his possession contained evidence related to suspected drug trafficking and marijuana cultivation.
Ford has been charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for possessing two grams or more of methamphetamine, cultivating marijuana (five plants or more) as a second or subsequent offense, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia offenses. He is also charged with tampering with physical evidence.
This is not Ford's first encounter with the law; he was previously convicted of trafficking in methamphetamine in September 2022 in Edmonson County and is currently on probation until 2030. The investigation into his activities is ongoing.
