Erling Haaland’s recent shopping trip to a Dallas retailer has generated significant online attention and immediate commercial impact for the business. The Norwegian football star visited Wild Bill’s Western Store in the West End area of Downtown Dallas following Norway’s World Cup match victory at Dallas Stadium on Tuesday.
Store owners Cody and Julie Newport reported that they were alerted to Haaland’s arrival and prepared by roping off a section of the floor. The striker, accompanied by several teammates, spent time selecting items. According to the owners, Haaland had no prior knowledge of cowboy hats and required assistance to be fitted. He purchased multiple hats, exotic boots, and a belt buckle featuring a longhorn design. He also had his initials and jersey number branded onto the merchandise.
A central item in the visit was a t-shirt with the phrase "Y’all can kiss my Dallas." Haaland shared photographs of his experience on social media, where the posts accumulated millions of views and likes. The viral nature of the content led to a rapid increase in demand for the shirt, nearly emptying the store’s stock. Online orders for the item have also increased significantly.
The Newport family stated that they are awaiting a new shipment of the t-shirt, which is scheduled to arrive on Thursday to restock the shelves. Prior to the visit, the owners noted that approximately 90 percent of their clientele consisted of tourists. Following Haaland’s social media activity, they have observed a noticeable shift, with more shoppers traveling from North Texas to visit the location.
