The Texas state 7-on-7 tournament provided an early look at skill players who may impact the upcoming high school football season. Several Dallas-area athletes distinguished themselves during the event, which features non-contact play for offensive and defensive backs, receivers, and tight ends.

Keller Central’s Braylen Dixon drew praise for his ability to secure high-point catches, including two crucial scores in the semifinal against Lake Travis. While teammates Isaiah and Jeremiah Taylor received significant attention for their two-way contributions, Dixon’s physical presence at the wideout position remained notable.

Allen tight end Jaden Davis capitalized on defensive focus placed on Zach Williams, particularly in the championship match. Coppell quarterback Carter Zingelmann displayed strong arm talent on deep throws to the left sideline, while teammate Jaden Bibbs nearly sealed a victory against DeSoto with a potential game-changing interception.

Defensively, Mansfield Timberview’s Tierney Shaw recorded interceptions against Dripping Springs and Beaumont United, helping his team reach the winner’s bracket. Colleyville Heritage’s new quarterback Lane Vargas guided his squad to a 2-1 record with precise passing. Arlington receiver Kason Brown, brother of former Colt Jahari Rogers, earned an SMU offer after demonstrating reliable hands and physicality throughout the tournament.
