Galleria Dallas has launched a summer reading initiative in partnership with the Dallas-based organization Catch Up & Read. The program offers scheduled story times throughout July, aiming to provide educational engagement for families visiting the shopping center.

The events are held twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. All sessions take place on Level 3 of the mall, located near The Play Place. The schedule alternates between different types of presenters depending on the day of the week.

Wednesday readings feature local children’s authors. The lineup includes Jenn Hill, Kenna Sosa, Rosie J. Pova, Erica Asante, and Ha Dinh. Following each reading, Camp Crafty hosts a pop-up activity inspired by the featured author and their work.

Friday sessions are led by literacy coaches rather than authors. The nonprofit provides a family toolkit on its website to assist parents in continuing reading activities at home during the summer break.

The initiative is part of a broader effort by NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 to support literacy skills during the summer months. The network is offering resources for various age groups in both English and Spanish. Participants can also find information on how to earn free food and prizes through reading challenges.
