Federal authorities have filed an eight-page indictment charging five men with racketeering, murder, kidnapping, and jackpotting in connection with a fatal shooting in Farmers Branch. The suspects are identified as Hector Asdrubal Garcia Zuniga, also known as "Murry"; Carlos Luis Zambrano Bolivar; Jhonny Jesus Martinez Serrano; Jhonatan Nahn Toro Gonzalez; and Ehiker Alexander Morales Mendoza, known as "El Negro."
U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros of the Northern District of Illinois detailed a separate incident from May 2026 involving the group. According to Boutros, the defendants captured a victim in Chicago, bound his wrists, and held him in an apartment for several hours. They then transported him to an abandoned building where he was shot multiple times in the head and body.
In the Farmers Branch case, officials stated the men drove the victim to the city and executed him in front of two children. The minors were later released in a different location. The indictment alleges the group is part of the Tren de Aragua (TDA) organization.
Carlos Luis Zambrano Bolivar previously faced state charges for capital murder in Dallas County. His trial in February resulted in a mistrial after jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict. The Dallas County District Attorney’s office indicated it intended to seek a new trial, with online court filings showing a hearing scheduled for October. The DA’s office did not respond to requests for comment regarding the federal charges.
During a press conference, officials discussed the timeline of the suspects' entry into the United States. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Blanche stated that all five men entered the country between December 2021 and April 2024. Blanche said none of the men should have been in the country.
