Man, 56, dies after shooting in southern Dallas

Dallas police say 56-year-old Charles Baldwin was fatally shot by a known suspect in the 3500 block of La France Street early Thursday morning.

Dallas police confirmed that a 56-year-old man died following an early morning shooting in the southern part of the city. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on July 2 in the 3500 block of La France Street.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about the shooting. Upon arrival, they located the victim, identified as Charles Baldwin. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel transported Baldwin to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

According to a preliminary investigation, Baldwin was shot by a suspect who was known to him. Police have not released the identity of the suspect or further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting. The investigation remains active.
